The Role
The Chef de Partie will work alongside our Chef, ownership, and leadership team and will be trusted with significant responsibility within the kitchen.
You must be capable of stepping up and running service independently when required, including directing line cooks, managing ticket flow, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring the kitchen is prepared and properly stocked.
This is not simply an assistant position.
Responsibilities
– Lead and organize kitchen service during assigned shifts.
– Direct and support line cooks and other kitchen staff.
– Run service independently when the Chef is unavailable.
– Ensure orders are produced accurately, consistently, and efficiently.
– Coordinate stations and ticket timing during busy service.
– Maintain food quality, presentation and portion standards.
– Work multiple stations and step in wherever required.
– Train and support junior kitchen staff.
– Ensure appropriate prep levels are maintained.
– Monitor ingredient and stock levels and identify shortages before they affect service.
– Assist with inventory, ordering requirements, and food rotation.
– Maintain proper food storage, labeling and sanitation standards.
– Help reduce unnecessary food waste.
– Ensure stations are clean, organized, and ready for service.
– Maintain opening and closing procedures.
– Communicate kitchen issues, equipment concerns, and supply needs to leadership.
– Work with our Chef, ownership, and management team to continually improve food quality, kitchen systems, and service.
– Help execute restaurant service, weddings, private events, and larger vineyard functions.
Who We Are Looking For
The right candidate will have strong professional kitchen experience and be comfortable taking responsibility during service.
You may currently be working as a:
– Chef de Partie
– Sous Chef
– Junior Sous Chef
– Lead Line Cook
– Experienced cook ready to move into a larger leadership role
Overall, we’re looking for someone who understands how to operate a busy kitchen, lead a team, and confidently run a successful kitchen service.

Schedule & Seasonality
Rolling Grape Vineyard is a seasonal hospitality business, and hours may fluctuate throughout the year based on restaurant volume, weddings, private events, and seasonal demand.
Busier periods may offer substantial hours, while shoulder-season hours can vary slightly. Senior roles are prioritized.

We are open to candidates seeking a committed culinary position, including experienced chefs or Sous Chefs whose background may extend beyond the traditional Chef de Partie role.
Evening, weekend, and event availability will be required.
Rate
Rate is $24-$26 an hour based on experience, with opportunity to grow.

Rolling Grape Vineyard is a winery, restaurant, and event destination in Bailieboro, Ontario. Our kitchen supports regular restaurant service along with weddings, private functions, live entertainment, and special vineyard events.
We are looking for someone who can cook exceptionally well, lead a team, keep a kitchen organized, and confidently take charge of service when needed.
