The Role
The Events Sales & Experience Manager will be responsible for managing incoming event opportunities while actively developing new business for Rolling Grape Vineyard.
You will work with couples, families, companies, community groups, and other clients looking to host events at the vineyard, including, but not limited to, the following:
– Weddings
– Bridal and Wedding Showers
– Rehearsal Dinners
– Birthday and Anniversary Parties
– Corporate Events
– Private Tent and Vineyard Events
– Celebrations and Special Occasions
– Community Events
– Ticketed Events and Vineyard Experiences
You will also help develop and launch events of our own—from concepts such as country line dancing and salsa nights to harvest dinners, entertainment, seasonal events, and other experiences designed to bring people to the vineyard and fill the calendar.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Sales & Bookings
– Respond to wedding, private event, and group inquiries quickly and professionally.
– Meet prospective clients, provide site tours, and explain our event options.
– Develop relationships with clients from the initial inquiry through booking.
– Prepare event proposals, pricing, and packages.
– Follow up on leads and actively work to convert inquiries into confirmed bookings.
– Coordinate deposits, payments, contracts, and required event documentation with the finance and administrative teams.
– Maintain an organized pipeline of inquiries, proposals, tentative bookings, and confirmed events.
– Look for opportunities to increase event revenue through food, beverage, upgrades, and additional experiences.
Weddings & Private Events
– Act as primary contact for wedding and private-event clients.
– Guide clients through developing the details and timeline for their event.
– Coordinate event requirements with the kitchen, bar, service, facilities, and management teams.
– Ensure important event information is communicated accurately to the people responsible for execution.
– Oversee major events and be present on-site when required.
– Ensure events are delivered according to the commitments made to the client and the standards established by Rolling Grape Vineyard ownership and leadership.
– Identify problems early and help ensure they are resolved before they affect the guest experience.
Build the Event Calendar
A major part of this position is asking:
“What can we put on the calendar that will bring people to Rolling Grape Vineyard?”
You will be expected to:
– Develop new event concepts.
– Identify seasonal slowdowns and develop opportunities to increase traffic during those periods.
– Help create recurring events and seasonal programming.
– Build partnerships with entertainers, instructors, businesses, community organizations, and other groups.
– Research what is happening locally and identify opportunities for Rolling Grape Vineyard.
– Continually look for new reasons for customers to visit, return, and bring others with them.
Examples could include live entertainment, dancing, dinners, workshops, themed nights, seasonal celebrations, corporate experiences and other creative vineyard events.
Sales, Marketing & Networking
– Work closely with our marketing team to promote weddings, private events and vineyard programming.
– Provide marketing with the information, dates, photos, offers and details needed to promote events effectively.
– Collaborate with the marketing and events team to develop campaigns designed to generate wedding and event inquiries.
– Network within Peterborough and surrounding communities.
– Build relationships with wedding professionals, businesses, tourism partners, community organizations, and potential corporate clients.
– Represent Rolling Grape Vineyard professionally at networking opportunities and industry events.
– Look for new partnerships and sources of event business rather than relying solely on incoming inquiries.

We are highly seasonal, with our busiest and most important event periods taking place throughout the summer and fall.
Rate
$24-29 an hour based on experience.
